VENEZUELAN ARTIST'S WORK MELF
STARS SHOWS IN LONDON

The work of Venezuelan artist Luis MELF Esparragoza be displayed on the
London (England), through a solo show titled
Cultural confusion, who curated by Carolina Fungairiño is
present from 02 to 09 March in the gallery space 118, located in
Notting Hill area.

From his last individual in Venezuela (presented in the Gallery
Fundaiguini late 2009), where the characters in the play just felt
through the objects set forth and the atmosphere recreated, MELF displayed in
This shows an unprecedented number of newly created 20 pieces in various
formats, in which human presence is a constant.

In a play on words, "cultural confusion" (confused viewers
as noted, merge or mix different cultures), the artist combines in
his new work clothing and other items with typical Venezuelan
English iconography, inspired by its roots, the distance and nostalgia
it is necessary, as he himself says. So in this exhibition
can watch "The Beatles" liki liki dresses with harp, bass, four
maracas, in the work-blooded prairie, with Victoria Beckham (former singer
Spice Girls group) dressed in a suit on the part joropo joropo private;
or the singer, composer and pianist Elton John, with four and hat
Burrowing in the fourth of Elton.

To complement the project, MELF integrates the palette exposure
support served to mix the colors of their creations, as it considers
it co-stars in the sample. It also includes a couple of jobs
concurrent, explosive Rositas Classy, "where apparent
Icons by royalty, my annoyance at the incursion of the countries
power in other universal poverty and my uneasiness about the unequal
classes in the world with a humorous treatment in reading, "he says.

For its part, the curator Carolina Fungairiño considers the elements
aesthetic MELF's work are crucial for him, as the expression and
the sense that each piece conveys. "His figurative works are created with a
particular style through various techniques and materials such as airbrush
inks, etchings, acrylics, among others, to show the issues and conflicts
ethical, social and cultural, which concern both the individual and
entire population. "

Similarly highlights the frequent use of funding patterns in
pictures, "as a result of the investigation that the artist has been doing
recent years in his atelier in Vienna, with bright colors and backgrounds
dimensional left a pleasant taste in the eyes of someone who watches "

Fungairiño expressed.

Born in Caracas in 1970 and residing in Vienna (Austria) since
2000, MELF has developed a significant international career
which includes individual and group exhibitions in museums, halls
and galleries in Venezuela, Austria, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, among other countries. He is currently represented in Venezuela
Dimaca Gallery by Los Palos Grandes.
